The Scottish Seniors Golfing Society staged their East of Scotland Open here at Kinross on 9th & 10th June 2011. In total, 97 players entered the strokeplay event played over 2 rounds on The Montgomery.
Apart from a heavy downpour mid morning on the first day, conditions were reasonably favourable for players although the course stood up to its reputation as a challenging layout with the CSS coming in at 75 & 74 on the two days against the official SSS 72. However, there was some very impressive golf played, not least from Phil Dempsey (Tulliallan) who shot a gross 71 and David Imrie (Thornton) a gross 72 – both in their second rounds.
